About the role
This is a critical role in realising the The Lottery Corporations Procurement objective to become a world class procurement organisation with leading capability in sourcing and category management.
The Purchasing Lead is accountable for management and ownership of the delivery of the Purchasing function for the Lottery Company, as well as providing support for procurement, property and other transactional finance teams.
The Purchasing team are responsible for managing aging open purchase orders and thereby reducing company liability and exposure. The team is also involved in PO reporting, product catalogue maintenance, resolving invoice exception queries and auditing of all requisitions.
What you’ll do
The Purchasing Lead is responsible for the management and ownership of the purchasing management process, compliance to procurement policies, and associated due diligence checks to be completed by working with key stakeholders in the business. This role sits with the Procurement Centre of Excellence Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Management and ownership of the delivery of the Purchasing function.
- Accountable for the purchasing management process.
- Tracking and reporting the key measures whilst identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of requisitions to contracts and current supplier pricing and other terms.
- Builds strong collaborative networks with internal stakeholders, in particular, Finance.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and training documentation.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years’ experience in Purchasing or Accounts Payable experience in a similar sized organisation.
- Relevant qualification and equivalent work experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Relevant computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems. e-procurement systems, including Oracle).
- Strategic awareness.
- Strong stakeholder management experience.
